Hiking for Life

I had a super productive day today - I got my car in to the dealer to get my summer tires put on, walked to work, did a half-day, walked back and picked up my car (LOVE the summer tires!), had a rest, then met Jivka in Gatineau Park for an afternoon/ evening hike.

I had been edgy and irritable a bit today, but post-hike? I felt great. So much more relaxed, more able to ride the waves. I even took Dexter for an evening walk when I got home, and am so glad I didn't cheat him. He loved his walk so much!

Anyway, today's hike was supposed to be a preliminary test-hike for Sunday's planned large group hike, but today the road to get to the planned trailhead was closed. I called the NCC, they say it will be open this Friday at noon, and will be accessible Sunday. I am not trusting this, and will go back to check the road on Friday or Saturday.

So, our planned hike having been given the kaibosh, we did a quick re-plan for tonight at least, and hiked from P10 on trail #32, #4 and #14 to trail #1 and Keogan shelter. Returning, after trail #4, we just stuck to the Dunlop road. It was a nice hike/ walk - took some energy, and we got fresh air, chit-chat and time away from technology.
