Last night I met Jivka and a few of her hiking friends for a lovely walk / hike in Gatineau Park.
The weather was perfect - perhaps the most perfect spring evening yet. It was mild, about 12 degrees Celsius, and these longer days meant the sky was bright until nearly 8:00, and was still not that dark as we made our way out of the woods.
It was not so much a hike as a walk, as the leader, Michel, wanted something easy and not water-logged or snow-filled. We walked along a bicycle path (trail #5), then took another little trail (#26?) up to Gatineau Parkway, which is closed to traffic until May and was deserted. In fact, we saw almost no-one for our entire 2 hour walk.
Oh, and the added benefit for me? This was a French group, so I got to practice a little.
