We had a record snowfall here in the Ottawa Valley (yep, I'm including Aylmer in 'Ottawa Valley') yesterday - 51 cm (that's just over 1 foot and 8 inches of snow). That was, the radio said,. one quarter of the total snowfall over all of last winter.
It took me ages to shovel out my driveway. I did an hour yesterday. and another 2.5 hours this morning (well, that is including shovelling the back deck and shovelling off the hot-tub...). The biggest drain on my energy and time was all the super-heavy., hard-packed snow pushed into my driveway by the city plow. And, annoyingly, it passed again AFTER I'd shovelled, so out I went to shovel yet again, when a super nice, plow-owning neighbour, came to my rescue and pushed the snow away for me. Yay for neighbourliness!
On the bright side, Lola did have a ball in the snow.
