While families in Quebec are eagerly seeking vacations away in the warmth, or various activities to keep their kids entertained, I am simply staying home and getting stuff done. My big goal is a major spring cleaning - ceiling fans, windows, baseboards, etc...
And, of course, other tasks that need doing will get done.
Today, I feel like I got a lot accomplished already:
- I went to Maxi to pick up some grocery items
- Swung by the pharmacy and picked up some vitamin D3 and Centrum
- And - here's the big thing - took my T4s and stuff to Ammex (the tax people!) to get them to do my income taxes.
I know, I know. And I do hate paying someone to do something that I can do for myself. However - I did my own taxes once, one year. It was horrible and time consuming and confusing and stressful and not worth the time it consumed! Frankly.
For the past three years, my mother (who is also my roomate!) have been taking our tax stuff to Ammex on rue Principal in Aylmer, Qc. We've been extremely satisfied by their quick and professional service, and the price is good, too (It cost me their base price of $69.99 last year, and my mother's was a little more, but still under $90).
Oh, and I now have a homemade chicken soup on the stove, and it's not even 11:30 a.m. on day one of relace (break)!!
