Sunday's Hike - p16 to Healey Shelter

Healey Shelter
Once again, I went with 'the group' on a nice, early Sunday morning hike. Jivka led this week, and she took us on a pretty mild hike in gentle hills, from P16 (in Wakefield) to the Healey Shelter and back.

Cooling off at the lake (detour on route 36)
We did take a small detour from the trail on the way back, so we could sit by the lake and enjoy a respite from the warm, mosquito air. The detour (not mapped) is just one kilometer on  route #36, just follow signs to O'Brien beach, but keep straight when you see the lake.

To get to p16, take Autoroute 5 north, getting off at de la Riviere. Turn left on the main road, and go about a kilometer or so, watching for a brown sign that is a picture of a covered bridge. This is your landmark to tell you to turn left on Pine road. That will take you to P16.
