Leading a Hike

Last week I became an organizer of my favourite Meetup.com group - the Ottawa-Gatineau Adventurers. This is a super group that is very, very active and always has tons of outdoor activities scheduled. Becoming an organizer means that I can set up and lead activities, and so I did!

Today I lead my first hike, and it was the first "Early Morning" hike of the season. Jivka lead them every week last year, and it was tiring. I think alternating will provide a break for her, and give me the fun and experience of planning and leading the hikes.

This hike today was the same one I did last weekend, from rue du Quartz to and around Pink Lake.

It was amazing, really nice weather and good to see familiar faces again. And it's good to get out regularly - after just three hikes I feel like I'm getting in better shape again.
